There is this thing going on in our heads: A talking voice. Ever heard? It’s complaining, suggesting, thinking weird stuff, cursing and so on. It’s called our mind. It’s known to be brilliant; it’s supposed to be the most important thing in our lives. Yet, people are constantly annoyed by it. And there are actually people out there who want (or want to teach) of how to shut it up.

So I have some good news and some bad news about the mind.

The bad one first: You can neither (and don’t need to) shut it up nor fighting it. You also can’t (and shouldn’t) suppress it. These attempts are all counterproductive. Any person who is trying to teach that: run. They apparently have absolutely no clue what they are talking about!

"The (Complete) Blueprint For Financial Success"

If you have been curious or even frustrated about tons of vague strategies in your search for a comprehensive understanding of the PRINCIPLES OF WEALTH BUILDING, my 5-page pdf-document provides a definitive solution to all your questions. Just enter your best E-Mail adress on the right to find out what these principles are. I look forward to seeing you inside 🙂

Because the good news is: You are NOT the voice in your head – you are NOT your mind. You are the one that SEES it. So let it talk, let it complain, let it curse or let it make suggestions. It is annoying to you? It can be quite often, yes, but that should never be a problem which you can not handle.

If you argue that you then might as well shut your mind up since you are not IT anyways, let me tell you that shutting the mind up won’t get you anywhere. Ever tried? It will return – most of the time even louder. But it WILL return. So all the efforts of trying to do something about it is a complete waste of energy and life quality.

People mostly want to shut it up because they either can’t handle what it’s talking about (like something they are angry about) or because they are so addicted to something that they don’t feel free if the mind keeps talking about things they don’t resonate with (like their alleged „true self“, which according to them will never develop if they don’t finally stop thinking about chocolate all the time – or something like that…).

Investing Is No Different

It is the same dilemma with investing or dealing with money in general: The personal mind tries to comment our investments, visualizes heaps of dollars, a nice house, or anything else fancy that it thinks we like, and that we of course deserve, once we do the investment.

The most important thing to know, and to make life easier right from the beginning, is that we should distinguish between a personal mind and an analytical mind.

Think of the analytical mind as Albert Einstein, Elon Musk (the engineer), Steve Jobs (the engineer), your math professor, a surgeon at work or you brainstorming on a problem.

The personal mind would be similar to any influencer, commercials, your wardrobe, your car, job, and so on. It is always about you, us, ourselves – in short: The ego.

The personal mind is also the party pooper in our head: „Why didn’t Frank say “Hello” to me today? What if I don’t get the raise? How come I never have luck?“

The analytical mind would never do that. The analytical mind is a problem solver. It’s the guy you call when things get messy.

However, it is somehow the same voice in our head, right?

But this distinction between the analytical mind and personal mind can already, and literally, save you thousands of dollars. The personal mind has nothing to do with finances – or more specific, financial decisions. The personal mind gets out of line constantly, it creates emotions, offensive, is being cocky, greedy, and so on.

The analytical mind focuses on the situation, detaches from personal likes and dislikes, and solves the thing in front of you. It makes suggestions about how to raise any situation – still independently from your likes or dislikes. It is basically “neutral”, completely dedicated to the problem to solve.

So next time you want to make an investment or any other financial decision: Which mind should take the lead?
